TTRS-Times Table Rock Stars and Numbots
The children have really been excited by TTRS and Numbots and there is lots of healthy competition within the class. Do encourage your child to use it regularly as it is helping them learn their tables; a skill they need to continue to develop. If you are unsure about how to help your child access TTRS and Numbots at home, please do ask.
The children absolutely love Class Dojo and it has really encouraged them to achieve and strive to become ‘always’ children. We continue to discuss with the children what prizes they can earn for the points they gain. If you haven’t downloaded the app yet to see how your child is doing, please do ask us for an access code and you can share in your child’s learning journey.
Thank you for all your hard work at home last half term. We have been really impressed with the work you have completed. The homework in Aquila will continue to be set on a Wednesday, due in the following Monday. Where possible, guidance will be sent home to support your child with the homework. Please do email or ask one of the members of staff if you need any guidance in supporting your child.
It is really important to continue to encourage your child to read frequently; ideally daily. This can be a mixture of being heard by someone at home and reading independently. We do aim to hear your child in school at least weekly. All children are heard read during our daily guided reading group sessions.
Please ensure your child has both indoor and outdoor kit for this half term. Our PE day is Friday this term. Please send PE kit to school on a Monday as it is helpful for kit to stay in school all week. Occasionally the PE day changes due to school events. It can be taken home each Friday.
Outdoor P.E kit: Trainers are essential, a tracksuit (blue or black) and a team polo shirt.
Indoor P.E kit: Pumps, blue or black shorts and a team polo shirt.
Please ensure your child has a water bottle in school each day. They can refill it using the water coolers during the day. We do encourage the children to drink regularly.
Finally, thank you for the support you give us to help your child learn and develop. If you have any questions or concerns, please do speak to any of the Aquila staff or send us an email. We can usually respond to emails very quickly. Mrs Meah firstname.lastname@example.org or Mrs Pennells email@example.com . Or do message us on Class Dojo. If there is something you wish to discuss in more depth then do please contact the school office to arrange a meeting.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs Pennells, Mrs Meah and all the staff in Aquila
