Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the provision of special education needs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to create and implement individualised support plans.
Monitor and report on the progress of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
We Are Looking For:
A qualified teacher with a passion for special education and who has experience of successfully supporting and improving outcomes for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Experience in a SENDCo role or a strong interest in moving into this area.
A commitment to creating an inclusive educational environment.
Essential Qualifications:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs Coordination (PG Cert SENDCo): Or be committed to completing the National Professional Qualification for SENDCos, once successfully appointed.

Salary: Level 1 Teaching Assistant A1/ B1 NJC £23,656 - £24,027 pro-rata (salary dependent on experience and qualifications)
Hours: 32 hrs and 30 mins per week, term time only (starting at 8:30am and finishing at 3:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break)
JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strong candidate to support teaching and learning at Manston Primary School in Leeds. This role is varied, and we are looking for an adaptable, flexible, and resourceful individual, who is able to cope in an active and vibrant environment, to help our pupils develop in all areas of their learning.
Start date: September 2025
Contract: Fixed Term – 1 Year (Maternity Cover)
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all learners.
Working with a class teacher to deliver excellent teaching and learning.
Coaching children on a 1:1 or group basis.
Supervising pupils during playtimes/lunchtimes.
Accompanying groups on trips.
Undertaking and supporting assessments.
Setting up and clearing of provision areas.
Evidencing learning.
Working with the teacher to create stimulating classroom displays and learning resources.
Creating opportunities for all learners to reach their potential, irrespective of ability.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
GCSE English and Maths at grade C or higher (or equivalent qualifications).
Recent and relevant experience of working in a school or with children in another capacity.
A good understanding of phonics and the teaching of early reading.
A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
A ‘can-do' attitude.
A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem, and progress of everyone at the school.
