Breakfast Club Charges from Monday 19th April 2021
Dear Parents and Carers,
During the Lockdown last year and the January Lockdown this year, school have made a concerted effort to keep breakfast club running so that Key Workers could continue to fulfil their vital roles.
As our breakfast club staff also have other roles in school, we were not able to furlough any of them to reduce costs over this period. At the end of the financial year, our school’s breakfast club has a £6,000 deficit budget. Whilst this is a direct result of the exceptional circumstance around Lockdown and the pandemic and something impacting many schools, we want to ensure that our school can continue to operate a breakfast club for our families.
In order to keep the breakfast club operating, the price per session from Monday 19th April 2021 will be £3.
We realise that a price increase is never welcome news and that many families are experiencing financial difficulties currently. If you would like to discuss the price rise or how to access your employers or the Department for Educations (DFE) Tax-Free child-care scheme, please contact school or follow this link for more information. These schemes allow you to save money to pay for childcare (such as breakfast club) tax free. For the DFE scheme, you will receive a top up of 25p for every £1 you deposit, which can then be used to pay for breakfast club.
We believe that this price continues to offer excellent value for money and as a school, are not looking to run our breakfast club as profitable enterprise: just to cover its cost and provide a valuable service.
Alongside this week’s newsletter will be a form consulting on the establishment of an afterschool provision at our school from September 2021. To register an interest in this provision and help us ascertain if it is financially viable, please complete this form.
