Blue Caps - Manston Mediators
Every Year in April children from Year 4 are invited to apply for the position of being a Blue Cap.
There is a 10 week training course for the 6 children chosen and this involves lots of discussion, role play and games between the group.
When the training is complete each child receives a certificate and their Blue Cap. They now are ready to commence their role as mediators in the playground during their time in Year 5 and 6. Mediators work in pairs and help any children who are having a disagreement to sort out their conflict and reach a solution, or a compromise to their problem. On the rare occasion that a problem can not be solved then an adult would become involved.
